Purchased my first packs of baseball cards in 1952 for five cents. Have been hooked on collecting ever since with short gaps for military service and employment. Collected cards of all sorts and sports but basically stopped amassing new items in 1994 when my collection hit 2,000,000+ cards which I still have piled up in storage.

Have now confined my primary collecting to baseball cards of my former hometown teams; the Philadelphia Phillies and Athletics prior to 1955. Maintain collections of each in both prime ungraded and professionally graded cards by PSA and SGC, in Near Mint or better condition from 1949 to 1972, any grade from 1911 to 1948 and Mint graded cards of the Phillies from 1973 to 1979.

To expand my horizons, I am currently building both complete pristine ungraded and professionally graded complete sets from the years 1961 and 1971 in Near Mint or better condition. Still love collecting baseball cards as much as I did in 1952 although I wish my parents had not thrown out my piles of 1952 and 1953 Topps cards that I had won in the school yard from 'flipping' and 'pitching', even if they had dinged corners and creases.
